We do have a strict policy of paying for work which involves responsibility. We’re strong in opposing free labour. However, that still leaves plenty of opportunities for helping us as a regular volunteer.
Volunteering at the Steve Sinnott Foundation is a rich and rewarding experience, a great opportunity to get involved and feel part of a community supporting teachers and students in the UK and internationally to achieve a better quality of life through education.
Of course, volunteering will also look great on your CV, especially if you’re in between jobs or have little work experience. It is also a good way of testing the waters if you’re looking to change career and transferable skills. We’ll talk with you about what will suit you best and, if it will help you, we’ll take some time to support you in enhancing your existing skills and in learning some new ones.
For regular volunteers we’ll also provide references to further help your career prospects.
How volunteers help us
There are always tasks to support paid staff in the following areas –
• Marketing, communications, PR
• Outreach and networking
• Help During Events
Volunteers who are already familiar with the kind of work we do and the areas in which we work also help us a lot in project development, helping us test the viability and sustainability of projects and promoting projects for support.
And, of course, we always welcome good fundraising ideas.
